Our Story

From Four Friends to an Industry Name

In December 1989, four friends with a shared vision came together in Pune to start what would become Unity Poly Barrels. With limited resources but unlimited ambition, they set up their first blow moulding line in Chakan — right in the heart of what would later become India's premier automotive corridor.

Over three decades, the company grew — expanding from industrial packaging into automotive components and custom blow moulding. Today, Unity Poly Barrels is led by Ankit Surkutwar, who has carried the founding spirit forward while driving the company into new markets.

The name Unity was chosen deliberately — a reflection of the partnership that started it all, and the collaborative approach that defines how we work with every client.

Four friends establish Unity Poly Barrels in Chakan, Pune with a focus on industrial packaging.

1990s

Industrial Packaging Growth

Expanded HDPE drum, jerry can and carboy range — becoming a trusted name in chemical and petrochemical packaging.

2000s

Pan-India Reach

Grew client base across 10+ states, supplying to chemical, petrochemical, pharma and food sectors nationwide.

2015

Change in Management

After completing his MS in Industrial Engineering, Ankit Surkutwar took the reins of the company — bringing fresh vision and a drive to expand into new markets.

2024

Second Location & Custom Vertical

Opened a second facility in Chakan — India's automobile hub — and launched a new vertical in the custom blow moulding space.

2025

Automotive Components Vertical

Expanded into the automotive components space, supplying precision-engineered HDPE parts to OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers directly from Chakan.
